God Game Empty God Game

Post  The Silent Watcher Sat Jun 30, 2012 1:10 am

While we wait for people to send in their turns and such, we need something to do.

So...simple roleplay?

We're all gods, blank universe, no planets/civilizations as of yet, standard laws of physics. Pure roleplay, no game mechanics.

Let's see what we come up with.

Name: (Self-explanatory)
Alignment: (D&D style, Good vs Evil, Lawful vs Chaotic, etc.)
Spheres: (What is your god related to? Ex. fire, darkness, insanity)
Flavor text: (Anything else)

Anything goes, just don't do something ridiculous like "I erase everything from existence." Use common sense, please. If your god is evil, sure, slowly wipe out someone's civilization. Just don't be an ass and do it instantly or anything like that. Be creative.

Name: Mur
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Spheres: Knowledge
Flavor text: I am Mur, and I don't believe in such things like "good" and "evil". Both exist because the human mind allows them to exist. They are both based on morals which don't really mean anything outside of that race. The accumulation of knowledge may be Orderly, but my actions are Chaotic. One day I will play the part of a tyrannic ruler that abuses his people, sending them towards their death for mere amusement, and on another day I will be the foundation of a great civilization which will have the potential to rule the galaxy. By human standards, I am both evil and good. I am equally as evil as I am good, therefore, I am neutral.

Name: Whatever he/she/it/other feels like being known as at the time.
Alignment: Chaotic Chaotic Neutral
Spheres: Chaos, possibly madness, and caramel.
Flavor Text: The actions of this deity are impossible to predict. It could be planning something for aeons, only to completely ignore it and do something entirely different, throwing out the entire plan. It could bring peace to a warring nation, or it could obliterate the entire planet. Its' thoughts and motives are unknown (and they would likely change as fast as its' actions do). For now, you may know it as %. Yes, the percent sign.

tl;dr: impulsive, chaotic, and possibly insane.

Have fun with this one.

Name: The Blight
Alignment: None
Spheres: Disease, Plague, Chaos, Destruction
Flavour Text: The Blight is simply that, a blight. It has no mind or consciousness, only a purpose to reduce all to nothing. It is known to instill fear and despair at the mention of its name, but has no true motivations of its own. It does possess near limitless power though, so it should not be taken lightly.

The God of Chaos was bored, which would be dangerous if there were any living things in this blank universe. But there isn't, and the God of Chaos was feeling exceptionally malevolent today. So it conjured up a single star, capable of lighting the entire known universe (which wasn't much, at this point in time), and began creating a planet. However, % quickly grew bored, and split the planet into billions of pieces, forming an asteroid belt.

Then, it waited for other gods to emerge. The stage was set.

Knowing nothing, and thinking nothing, The Blight had no thoughts, no emotions, no actions as it passed by the newly formed star. The star rapidly became darker, until it no longer shone in the sky. As it passed by the asteroid field, the asteroids aged to dust in an instant, then into nothing the next. Not even knowing what it had done, The Blight moved on, feeling nothing.

The star has been extinguished, and the asteroid belt has been destroyed.

Chaos is patient, but what has transpired is unacceptable...for now. It requires entertainment. So it remade the star once more, and protected it against its' fellow gods.

Let the games begin.

Remake the star. Make it resistant to other powers. Not invincible, merely resistant.

Not even noticing that the star had been remade, The Blight continued its path past the star. As it passed near it, the star began to sputter uncontrollably, and nearly went out. As The Blight reached the closest it would come to the star on its path, the star collapsed in on itself, parts of it swirling away into nothingness as it passed. The star had collapsed, but The Blight had not noticed, and even if it had, it wouldn't have cared. It knew nothing, not even hate or revenge.

The star has collapsed, and The Blight has moved past it.

Chaos had a solution. A simple one, but it would work. The star violently exploded, scattering its' matter across the (currently small) universe, carrying its' divine-resistant power with it.

Destroy the star, making the immediate area around the star resistant to gods. Creation will still be relatively easy, but alteration and destruction are more difficult, RP-wise.

EDIT: Since Megaprr created entire galaxies and stuff, I assume the universe is now larger than a solar system. Changing action appropriately.

Information is quite the interesting thing. It bends the laws of the universe. It is a fundamental part of physics. and curiously enough, life creates it. Mur decided that in order to start creating new information, life was necessary. merely a side product, but necessary.

Create solar system, with a planet that contains the qualities to support life. Then, create a species intelligent enough to start developing their own future.

Okay wow. Really TSW? Maybe you don't realize that my character exists only for the purpose of destroying things. And what do you do? Way to be a team player.

As The Blight moved along, it found nothing in its path, and no-one to bother it.

Move in the direction that it was headed in.

Let there be light! naaaaaa just kidding.

Mur decided that the species needed something to start it's developement. so he lit the skies with the light of stars and galaxies. He spread the lights far and wide, and then waited to look at his creation. Mur then saw that the species started developing. He gave them knowledge that allowed them to move forwards. From hunting to farming, from farming to villages, from villages to cities, from cities to metropolises, and from there Mur decided it was time to expand and give them something to wonder about. Mur gave them the means to explore the skies. he cast down the earthly shackles that bound them to the rock, and gave them the knowledge to leave and explore.

Create galaxies and stars, and give species interstellar travel capabilities.

It's a force of nature without a mind, what is there to get about that? Okay, maybe I didn't fully read your first post, but I thought this was supposed to be a RP? So I'm RPing a force of nature, the universal delete button. And anyways, so I destroyed your star, you could have done something to retaliate, or even gone somewhere else to make something. You were being stubborn first, and I reciprocated with the next post.

Edited action. A single supernova changing the entire universe is ridiculous (as, since the star was pretty much the only thing in existence, "the universe" was the size of a single solar system), so I scaled it back.

Chaos remakes the star. Then, because ordinary stars were boring, it made it purple.

Having no stimulus to change course, The Blight continued its path. As it moved, it neared one of the newly-formed galaxies. Having no indication that it was there, it continued to move along at its slow, but steady pace. As it neared this galaxy, it gave a shudder as The Blight's influence promoted all forms of disease and disorder. Its course would still be far away from the galaxy, but its influence would be felt for all of time.

Okay, this is getting me nowhere, so I'm going to make a new character. I won't remove my old one, but it will not really impact the game from henceforth.

Name: Kane Zix
Alignment: Has violent swings, best to call it chaotic neutral
Spheres: Madness, chaos, creation, insanity
Flavour Text: The embodiment of the limitless power of madness that is omnipresent in existence, Kane is the only being whose actions don't have to make sense. Kane has helped people in the past, or he has sent them to their doom, or a combination of both. Possessing limitless creative power, and no self control of any description, he is utterly unpredictable, and will gladly create anything in an instant. He can be calm and collected, or stark reaving mad, and will act on impulse when he feels like it.

Growing bored with the bland flavour of the universe (it tasted like oatmeal), Kane decided to change the flavour of the universe to deep-fried spaghetti and liver. He also decided to create a new universe where the stars emitted plaid light, and all life was uranium based.

The other embodiment of chaos appeared in a flash of some unidentified smell, similar to roses, next to Kane Zix.

"Well, what have we here? Another embodiment of chaos?"

It looked upon the new universe, and changed precisely seven thousand two hundred eight point six planets in it into popcorn.

"I'm sure you won't mind. Smile"

Somehow, the smiley face was verbal. Even the writer, the Silent Watcher, is uncertain how this occured.

Interested in the popcorn, but disappointed that the other embodiment of chaos didn't let him finish his work, Kane created a swarm of giant locusts with british accents that could teleport in and out of dimensions, and exhale nuclear cheese to devour the popcorn.

Mur watch with intrigue what the other gods created and decided to throw a bit of his own work into the mix. He wondered what would happen if his logic based creations saw these strange, random creations. Slowly he guided the space faring species and introduced them to the new flavored universe. After watching them frantically trying to figure out what was going on, he bestowed upon them the means to travel into different universe. Mur then watched as they made the mistake of opening a gateway to the universe with the new, uranium-based locust-men. He looked at the quarrel between the two species, and laughed.

Introduce own species into new universe and watch as they fight with the locust men.

First, not locust men, actual locusts.

Deciding that the universe needed more madness, Kane decided to make the Klingon species real(from Startrek), and give them all chainsaws and rat poison.

Chaos, on a whim (of course), decided to create a supposedly-ancient artifact capable of obliterating an entire galaxy.

Then he placed it in Klingon space. After deactivating it, of course. Chaos didn't want to piss off Kane.

Yet.

Rapidly growing bored of the Klingons panicking, Kane decided to change the probability of reality throughout the entire dimension(think universal randomize buttton, only affecting everything). This caused everything to fluctuate wildly, before settling in to its new state. As a side effect, the ancient artifact was now a 10 meter tall, cross-eyed chicken with 3 legs, and no destructive powers of any sort.

Change the probability of reality. The ancient artifact is now a 10 meter tall, cross-eyed chicken with 3 legs, and the universe is now totally random.

Chaos rapidly grew bored of this randomization, as per usual. It was too...predictable, for one could predict it to be random.

And thus, Chaos created its' own realm, a flat, featureless plane of existence, extending to an unknown distance. The realm was finite, yet one would never reach the edge. This realm was Chaos, and it would change according to its' mood. For now.

Create a plane of existence of indeterminate size. It changes based on Chaos' mood.
