Elena Thompson:
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral-Good
Age: 18
Semblance: Kristal
Appearance: Approximately 5'5" tall. Has long, golden hair and icy blue eyes. Commonly wears blue jeans and an ash coloured t-shirt.
Personality: She is fun-loving and optimistic, which is most evident when she speaks of her passion, treasure hunting. She enjoys being with her friends and meeting new people. Annoy her to great extents, however, and you may be surprised that the person who seemed to be a friendly young girl just a second ago is going to give you a prompt kick to the face.
Powers: Manipulation of light.
Abilities: Has trained and is proficient with many types of weapons, due to Kristal's unique transformation abilities. Excellent with a bow. Her various expeditions into ruins in search of treasure has trained her to be fast, intelligent, and discerning.
Equipment: Brings along a kukri knife and pistol as back-up weapons.

Gender: N/A
Age: ???
Appearance:  Normally takes the form of an Asuna coloured crystalline bow, but can transform into many other weapons.
Personality: Very straightforward and to the point, often seeming pessimistic, which tends to contrast with the personality of his "master". Seemingly cold and calculating to everyone except for Elena. He does not formally treat her as his master, neither does Elena treat him as a servant, but rather they are very close friends.

Powers: Manipulation of light, transforming into different weapons. If the weapon is a ranged weapon (i.e: a bow) then he creates hardened light ammunition of the appropriate type.

Personality: Ezekiel has proven himself to be completely

envisions himself as the savior of humanity, and is no longer
capable of seeing past his own desires.

Appearance: Short, straight gray hair, as well as very
pale skin and green eyes. Very strong build, approximately

Special Abilities: As the prophet of Arthria, God of Insects
(technically Arthropods), he has a wide variety of powers
borrowed from her. These include complete control of all insects
in the area. He can transform all or part of his body into
that of giant forms of any insect he chooses, and gains power
associated with that species. Such powers include (but are not
limited to) flight, silk-spinning, and deadly venom.

Personality: Seras is an extremely effective assassin by trade, and by nature. While not unkind, she generally feels little empathy or emotion in general to others. She has very few friends with little intention to make more. Cold and calculating, she has the ability to analyze any situation and instantly asses the risks of any plan. She is a very intelligent individual and is a master of the silent kill.

Power Limit: Able to decrease sound around her to 0 decibels in an area of 25m. Able to create a sonic boom outward from her hands. Limit to 200 decibels/100 megawatts of power. Able to use sound for sonar.

Personality: A generally quiet person Virgil normally likes listening to what others
have to say while silently judging them and their plans in his head. He thinks to 
himself a lot in a rather sarcastic tone and does not think about what he is saying
before he says it. This normally leads to him making fun of his friends or making a delicate
situation worse. He only becomes usefully vocal during battle. 
Virgil takes a stealthier approach to battles due to not having a highly destructive power. 
Despite being extremely critical to his comrades and generally making fun of them 
he does not dislike them and hates seeing friends die or get hurt. He couldn't care 
less abut everyone else.

Appearance: Virgil wears very standard clothing as not to be picked out in a crowd. 
His basic clothes consist of Asuna coloured jeans (eheheh), a plain white shirt 
with a grey coat on top. He also has average length light blond hair. When he 
goes into a mission in an restricted or otherwise illegal area he wears all black
clothing with a hood. 

Abilitys/Weaponry: He has a standard knife which besides being very durable and sharp,
has nothing special about it. He also has an experimental device attached to a necklace
which he hides under his clothing. The device allows him to manipulate an amount of 
fog equivalent to fill a single room completely. This fog can also be spread out 
across a wider area but its thinner and easier to see through. He can also use it
to control corpses along as someone makes enough holes in them that the fog can thread 
itself through. The corpses cannot act on their own will and thus can only be controlled
efficiently in Virgil's view. He can also control living people to some degree, but this 
would involve making a large non-lethal hole in them. If the hole is not all the way through the body he can gain partial control. 
The fog moves very fast but slows down the more it is in control of making it so only a certain amount of corpses can be controlled effectively. The fog can also not be stored and will always be present in a room, even if it is spread very thin.
Virgil can see clearly through the fog because he is the current user of the device.

Item of power: Bronze necklace with a ruby set into a bronze pendant.
Appearance:  Tall and thin, he wears a long black trench coat, white gloves with symbols of power on them, black boots, top hat, grey shirt, and black pants.
Personality: Cold, condescending and can be very aggressive. But in a methodical, collected way that makes you wonder if he truly was mentally stable. Gives little thought to harming others save a select few. Is a street magician by trade, that is to say a thief and a gambler. Is also very good at what he does.

Weapons: Burst rifle, duel magnums, duel war scythes.
Weapon specifications: The burst rifle has a 30 round magazine and fires in three round bursts. Has an effective range of 300 meters and fires 5.56 rounds. Magnums have a six round magazine a piece. Effective range 60 meters. Fires .357 magnum rounds. Duel war scythes are duel war scythes. If you need stats on them, go outside more.
 
Power limits: Is able to open a rift tear 6x3ft (unless special circumstances arise) and is able to open two at once, effectively making a tunnel. Is able to “hold together” anything that is placed in the rift indefinitely if said thing is within a range of 75m from him. Can open 20 rifts in the space of two hours, effectively reducing his ability to 10 uses per fight, (large time limit just so I can actually have it recharge and it make some form of sense.)

Rules of the Rift World
Every “value is zero” in the rift. There is no air, gravity, motion, anything. It is simply empty space. Since that is the case, everything that enters the rift world is destroyed unless it is being protected by something, i.e. my character. It is however possible to add things to the rift for a short time, such as motion or laws of physics. (If we had Jeremy’s character he could add time and stop it. Or Seras can “add” sound to it) but once the added “thing” is removed the “value” is set back to zero.

Appearance: Veryon wears a dark grey shirt and dark black pants. He also wears a large white cloak over all of his clothes. He has long black hair.

Weapons: Weapons are for punks.

Personality: Ab-normally happy in situations that would make others mad, frightened, or depressed, Veryon can’t understand the difference in certain situations, making it difficult to help people with problems that do not involve fighting. Because of this, he tends to try to solve all his problems with mindless violence. Despite not understanding human emotions he is a helping, kind person even though his methods are more destructive then helpful. Most of the times it’s more out of destructive enjoyment with the helping being an afterthought.
 

Abilities: Gravitational Control. Can adjust personal gravity. Can adjust gravity (Force Only) on other living things. Can use gravitational fields to attract objects to a location. Can't fight well without powers but has some Hand to Hand experience. Fully recharges power in 2 hours. Creating gravity fields or altering the gravity of himself or other people uses charge. Has 15(?) uses.

Adapting Character sheets

Below are a few character sheets for current and previous NPC's that the group has run into. These sheets will fill out in time, as more information is discovered, and when I can get better access to the internet. The idea of these sheets is to serve as a fast reference for character info for those playing (both GM's and players).

Current characters: (all existing blank categories will be filled in tonight).

Name: Zane ????? (if any).
Appearance: Hooded long red cloak, trimmed with gold coloured lining, with a white broken cross design on the back.
Weapon: Dull silver coloured sword, resembling a cross between a rapier and a lance. About the length of a rapier, but the with a thick base that narrows to a point. Sword can mysteriously change shape.
Power Classification: Antiqua-Pos
Power: Blood, definitely blood. Appears to have almost some kind of unleash mode.
Other: Appears to be a more important member in his group.

Name: Jack de la Diamant.
Nickname/title: "Dandyman", JD
Appearance: Black suit jacket with a simple white shirt underneath, nice black pants, and white gloves.
Occupation: Mercenary currently employed by Zane. One of the "top twelve" of the head of mercenary guilds.
Weapon: Razor edged cards, Bolas with fluffy dice on the ends.
Power Classification: ??? (if any).
Power: ??? (if any).
Other: Smokes cigars.

The Fifth State:

Just thought I should make some notes on the fifth state, the realm of non-solids that Qilong can create, as well as some details on his power in general.

Solids made into "Non-Solids":

The fifth state is probably best thought of as a kind of etherial plane, a place where there is no friction, gravity, or air, very similar to space really except you don't die horribly if you don't have a spacesuit. Also similar to space, and because there are no forces, an object entering the zone will continue in the same direction and at the same speed as it was when it entered. The only things that can affect those in the fifth state are other fifth state objects as well as gases and liquids that Qilong has made solid. Because of this non-solids have a kind of intangibility, allowing them to pass through objects. A convenient exception is objects (like humans) which are only partly solid, in these cases instead of causing people to die horrible deaths, Qilong's ability treats them as if they were completely solid.

Liquids and Gases into Solids:

Substances in the gas or liquid form can be turned into solids in whatever shape Qilong can imagine.

These solids have enhanced durability, dependant on how much Qilong focuses on them, and can be released into their original states at any time. These solids cannot be pierced or passed through, however they can be broken, when one of his solids is broken, Qilong experiences a backlash, equal to how hard he was focusing on the solid. This means that though breaking stronger barriers is harder, the result can stun or incapacitate Qilong.

Properties of the created solids do not change from what they were beyond the ability to firmly hold them. This means density, mass, weight, size as well as colour, flammability, texture among others remain the same for the substance when it was previously a liquid.

Qilong's limits:

Qilong's time in the Fifth State is limited to however long he can hold his breath.
Qilong can only affect up to two objects at once with his ability.

Special Note: objects and creatures in the Etherial plane can see and be seen normally.

A few more brief notes, we want you guys to win, what winning is for you is up to you, but we want you to win. However we also want everyone (including ourselves) to have fun, and a story where no matter what you do, everything is guaranteed to work out, isn't a lot of fun, at least in my opinion. So in order to counter this there will be points in the story which you (probably) cannot beat,  and the only way to survive will be to surprise us with a clever, workable solution or run away. Just wanted to get that out there long before we reach one of those points so you're all aware.

The current final order of business is a smaller one: I am at this point considering a power-up station at some part in the story in order to keep everyone's characters fresh. This power up would ideally be a small bonus effect to your characters, and would be decided by me in advance either by planning or a long list and dice. It would be available to only one character per person. What I want to know is which character would you choose to give a small random, potentially useful power up to? In Primusa's case, since your 2nd character has not yet been revealed, you don't have too choose, but for the others, tell me if you like the idea, and which character you'd want to have it, so I can start thinking it up.

Character Creation Guildlines

This is just a quick post to help you create a character, most of the below are suggestions not requirements, and some such as backstory you are encouraged to add to at any point (the more we know about your characters backstory the more we can incorporate it into the story, that said however I personally like surprises so revealing your story with your characters actions is awesome! This also means that if you don't have a full backstory (or any for that matter) you don't need to have it ready by the time we start, you can post it at any point, just before the game ends please).

Also when you first try and write a post, you'll note that you can't see anything you type, to fix this press the right most icon at the top (looks like a page with lines on it) and you should be fine.

Guidelines:

Name*:(self explanatory)
Race*:(Many races exist in the world of Renascentia, though the city in which your story takes place is mostly composed of humans, many races have come to the city seeking refuge and a minotaur in a business suit wandering down the street is given no more mind than anyone else).
Gender: (if applicable) 
Age: (self explanatory)
Semblance*:(the thing through which your character channels their ability, my character for example uses his otherwise ordinary hat, someone else uses a talking sentient bow of ancient origin)
Powers*: (describe your superpower/limits)
Ability:(things your character can do well that aren't related to their superpower, they have high flexibility, or can fight well with a sword or are trained with a shotgun, that sort of thing).

Semblance: glasses, with a hidden one use only trump card,

 Powers:ability to heal states of mind from negative emotions, jump very far and high, strong wind cancels out his use of abilities and makes him feel severely drained,
 
Abilities: very good with offering up somewhat relevant trivia, handling an electricity charged sword, keeping moods positive(er).

Appearance: scuffled salt and pepper hair, slightly too skinny, but wears bulcky clothes and coats, tie is a must, well, but not extrodinay build. Glasses,photo locket, wedding ring, slip on shoes, comfy not popular pants. 

Occupation:former observation worker of governments animal/human hybrid reintegration program. Program has concluded. In training till reasignment. 

Personality: would be considered simple in terms of attitude by some, but always contemplating. Reasonably positve but has bigger issues of self doubt that sometimes creep in. Very positive, close relasonship with wife and 4 children (of largely varying ages). Apoltical, but belives in not buckling to real black as death type evil.

Semblance: Two rune etched rods, one buried into each shoulder plate. Protrudes two inches out.
Power: Repurposed Magneticism (Ask Contemplator)
Can move natural magnetic force within 50 ft, into any number of metal objects. Can not create or destroy force, but can reverse/manipulate its polarity.
Abilities: Knowledge of electromagnetism and physics. Hand to hand combat.
Weapons: A bag of iron rich stones, electromagnetically charged gauntlets.
Appearance: Light build, deep set brown eyes, electric blue hair,  dark hair and pointed ears. He is branded at the base of the neck with a symbol of outcasts. Along with many patterns scarred into his arms and back. Appears to be in mid 20s however elves don't age so its a mystery.
Clothes: Light brown robes with a hood and black boots.
Inventory: A small weathered journal, a coin bag, two ceremonial elven daggers, and a pen.

Appearance: Zui Quan Lobsang stands five and a half feet tall, thin, and wiry covered in robes of wine red, cheddar yellows, pus green and ash black, giving him the appearance of a extremely flamboyant barrel. His robes conceal thousands of pockets, concealing a multitude of flasks, spices, herbs, matches, rope, bandages, amusing newspaper clippings, to name a few. His face is earnest, friendly, marked with laugh lines and frequently flushed. He does not appear to be a day over 60, but is nearly 3 times that age.
Attributes: Monks of the Corpse God who Reeks of Flowers are carefree, hospitable, friendly, generally peaceful, devoting their lives to brewing, funeral rites, medicine and their own martial prowess. Zui Quin Lobsang excels in hand to hand combat, while his mastery of strange fantastic brews has made him many friends and allies. Due to this he has been chosen by his brothers to travel the world, exposing others to the wisdom of the Great Shambling One, while travelling the world on one of the Stumbling Monasteries many Staggering Temples.
Transport: The Staggering Temple, a red wine building covered with hanging gardens supplying Ziu with queer plants and spices for his elaborate worship. The interior is a maze of storehouses, holding strange things in barrels. The Temple is the length and width of a city bus, and twice as high, supported by 8 spindly legs, fashioned after the Stumbling Monastery.
