856.to start I finaly after two days of searching found the answer which was really fucking easy

but just to give you a idea of what I was and have now succeded in doing is:

to get the Caret's(a class within java that represents the blinky line thing that tells you were your typing) postion and insert a peice of text into the document there

my answer was actually a lot simpler than what everbody on the internet told me. all I had to do was a call a method that inserted text.

857 basically, he's frustrated because he's missing a method. (kind of like a command). or at least he wants to add that specific command to the list of other commands. and he doesn't know where to find the code that adds it.
